Gary Jordan or Garyejordan as he is known on Fanbase, is a man on a mission.
Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, Gary E. Jordan II has always been drawn to the arts. Immediately after high school, he immersed himself in the music business, developing his skills in artist development and A&R. His talent for scouting and nurturing musical talent quickly earned him recognition, as he discovered and developed some of Atlanta’s most influential artists and producers. However, as he continued to evolve as a creative thinker and dealmaker, Gary’s passion shifted toward the film and television industry.
Recognizing the potential for storytelling through visual mediums, Gary founded Follow The Water Productions in 2019. This production company became his avenue to explore his unique voice as an artist. In 2022, he co-founded the Coalition Of Artists (COA), a creative collective focused on developing opportunities for actors, writers, directors, producers, videographers, poets, and musicians. COA offers a collaborative environment where creatives can fund, produce, and promote their projects in the realm of film, TV, and entertainment.
COA’s initiatives include weekly interactive workshops for screenwriters, actors, and improv artists, as well as monthly screenings and premieres for various film formats. The organization is also launching comprehensive training modules and creative development programs for local youth in the summer of 2024, in partnership with the City of Atlanta and state government officials.
Gary’s passion for film and TV is rooted in his belief that these mediums allow creators to craft worlds that people may have only imagined in their dreams. For him, art is more than entertainment—it is a powerful tool for self-expression and a catalyst for personal and collective growth. “Every creative person has a story to tell,” Gary says, “and there are countless men, women, and children waiting for those stories to be told. These stories shape lives for generations.”
Gary discovered Fanbase through his close circle of friends, who were already active on the platform. Unlike other social media options, Fanbase immediately resonated with him due to its focus on community-building and creator monetization. He quickly found a home for his creative endeavors on the platform, where he hosts a Thursday audio room dedicated to film and television. This space brings together a diverse range of creatives, including actors, screenwriters, producers, and musicians, to exchange ideas, share experiences, and build supportive networks.
What sets Fanbase apart for Gary is its commitment to monetization, giving creators a direct way to benefit financially from their content. “What I’ve enjoyed most about Fanbase over other platforms is the intentional effort to make monetization a part of the creative business model,” Gary notes. For him, Fanbase is not just a social media platform—it’s a creative ecosystem where community engagement and support are at the forefront.
As he continues to expand his presence on Fanbase, Gary envisions growing his reach and influence, leveraging the platform’s unique features like audio rooms and long-form content options. He sees Fanbase as a prototype for the future of social media, where authenticity, community, and creative freedom are paramount.
Gary’s advice to fellow creators is simple: “Take yourself and what you’re doing seriously. Use social media to invest in yourself and your future.” With COA, his production company, and his growing presence on Fanbase, Gary Jordan is a dynamic force in Atlanta’s creative community, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and artistic expression.
