Julieta Quagliotti’s career path defies easy categorization. A trained medical doctor, researcher, Disney translator, and now a tech leader, she has followed an unconventional trajectory powered by curiosity, resilience, and a deep desire to improve lives—no matter the medium.
Quagliotti earned her medical degree from the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, completing her general practitioner certification in 2008. Early in her career, she worked in pediatric traumatology, but the emotional toll of losing young patients pushed her to pivot to endocrinology. “In one week, I saw more than a dozen children die. It changes your perspective,” she reflects. Endocrinology allowed her to focus on long-term care and patient well-being, offering continuity and hope.
During her medical practice, she became involved in research and identified a novel application for the diabetes drug Glibenclamide. But the collaboration process revealed a gap. “I was working with a data engineer who couldn’t grasp the clinical implications. I realized it would be faster for me to learn his world than for him to understand mine.”
Determined to bridge that divide, Quagliotti pursued a new direction. In 2019, she enrolled at Siglo 21 University to study artificial intelligence and data science, and later trained as a Scrum Master. “I’ve always believed that if something’s worth doing, it’s worth understanding deeply,” she says.
Quagliotti was no stranger to learning or reinvention. At age 18, she passed an English translation exam so convincingly that her classmate—who had copied her answers—recommended her for a job at Disney. “She told me I’d be a good fit and helped me get in,” Julieta recalls. That first role as a translator launched her parallel career in media, which she would return to more than a decade later.
In 2018, Disney welcomed her back—this time as a product owner. “They still had my photo from 2002,” she laughs. “It was the same ID in the system, which made rejoining feel surreal.”
Raised in a household of engineers—her mother worked in industrial engineering with a focus on ISO 9000 standards, and her father, now 65, is a chemical engineer—Julieta grew up deconstructing gadgets and questioning how things worked. “I wasn’t interested in using the tools. I wanted to understand the systems behind them.”
That instinct translated into action. She played a founding role in Teclab, a forward-thinking online education platform, where she helped design the learning environments and content strategy. Now, she’s also a student there, earning a certification alongside others she’s helped empower.
She continues her studies in UX design through Siglo 21 and plans to complete her certification by the end of the year. “Learning never stops for me,” she says. “I always want to know how we can do things better—for creators, for patients, for students.”
Quagliotti’s personal life reflects her active, hands-on nature. She and her husband are raising twin daughters who will turn four in June. The family often spends weekends kayaking on nearby lakes. “The girls already have their own kayak,” she says proudly. “We believe in showing them the world early.”
After her mother’s passing, Julieta’s connection to family and legacy became even more central. “My parents taught me how to build things that last—whether it’s in science, tech, or life,” she says.
Today, Quagliotti is the Scrum Master here at Fanbase, a digital platform for creators of all kinds. Her work blends agile development, product design, and creator advocacy. “What I do now is still about helping people,” she says. “It’s just in a different way.”
